The soft cotton 8-ply layers make them ideal for wound cleaning and packing, as well as an effective wound dressing. Their woven construction also creates an absorbent dressing to soak up wound exudate. The woven fibers are low linting to avoid irritating the wound. McKesson gauze sponges come in various sizes and ply, and are available in both non-woven and woven varieties.
